Prior to the shutdown of its broadcast operations in 2020, ABS-CBN was the largest television network in the Philippines. As a radio broadcast company, it operated 22 radio stations including anchor radio stations in Mega Manila, DZMM and DWRR, in the AM and FM bands, respectively.
The company delivers television programming outside of the Philippines to over 3 million viewers in North America, the Middle East, Europe, Japan, Australia, Canada, and other countries in Asia, through the internet and the Company’s global distribution platform, TFC, using DTH satellite service, cable television channels, IPTV, mobile applications and video streaming services. RESPONSIBILITIES
The SWE Specialist 1 is responsible for the performance of the assigned video series in terms of content, quality and profitability for News Digital Media and its social media channels and all INCA Platforms.
- Identifies and sets story line-up for the assigned video series together with the Production Head.
- Implements, sustains and innovates on the concept and branding of the assigned video series.
- Writes, screens, evaluates and edits scripts submitted by SWE Specialist 2 and 3 based on the concept, branding and equity.
- Shoots required material and serves as team leader on the field.
- Previews mastered video material to be submitted to Production Head for approval.
- Makes sure all edits are implemented prior to uploading and ensures that all shots put in the final edit are fit to be uploaded. (“Fit” to mean no legal impediments, possessing proper attributions, courtesies, and sourcing, and complying with the NCAD Code of Ethics.)
- Formulates, manages and is responsible for the budget and other resources in cash or kind, as well as company property assigned to the production team.
- Monitors competition and identifies its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and constantly assesses program position in relation to it.
- Submits weekly report analyzing competitor’s content against News Digital’s.
- Comes up with ideas for new video series, considering the group’s business objectives.
- Works closely with YouTube operations and Newsgathering for livestream opportunities on all digital platforms.
- Checks for errors, edit titles, tags and description, including end screens of video content for YouTube and Facebook.
REQUIREMENTS
- College graduate preferably Mass Communication / Journalism / or any related course.
